Case Study - Car Park

A premier shopping centre at the heart of Singapore’s famous shopping belt, Orchard Road, replaced existing fluorescent tube light enclosures with LED lights for a maintenance free, energy and cost saving illumination.

The Problem

• The car park uses 2 x 36W (72W) fluorescent tubes per enclosure for illumination.
• Frequent breakdowns of fluorescent tubes requires maintenance team to change the lighting at the ramp, spiraling over 10 floors.
• High energy consumption and costs.

The Solution

• For each enclosure, the 2x 36W fluorescent tubes were replaced with a single 36W LED light, which utilise mid-power LEDs with color temperature at 4500k.

The Benefits

• Maintenance free lighting due to the long life of LED lights
• An immediate energy saving of 36W (50%) per enclosure, due to the efficiency of LED lights, which translated to an annual saving of $20,000
